Mrs. Violet M. Burns, 89, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday at home surrounded by family. Mrs. Burns was a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, crafting and playing games at the senior citizens center, she was a supporter of veteran's organizations, Easter Seals and other good causes. She was a member of the Corning Church of Christ.
She married her husband of 40 years Frank Burns on January 2, 1948.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons Freddy Burns, Jimmy Burns; two brothers George Southerly, William Southerly; two sisters Minnie Woolen and Evelyn Cantrell.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce McGrew officiating. Burial was in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, July 28, 2014 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
