Lela Hicks, was born July 2, 1920 in Datto to John and Bertha Mae (Sullivan) Oglesby and died in The Meadows Health and Rehab, Corning, April 15, 2006. She was 85.

A homemaker and member of Church of Christ of Knobel, she married Willard Jeffrey Hicks March 18, 1939 in Datto. He preceded her in death July 22, 1993.

Survivors are two sons, Jeffrey Doyle Hicks, Corning and Floyd Wayne Hicks, Conway; four granddaughters, Beth Carter, Ann Marcello, Lora Jersey, Camyl Wehrlin; one grandson, Bobby Doyle Hicks; two step-grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Buck Oglesby, Harold Oglesby, Burley Oglesby and Johnny Oglesby; three sisters, Jessie Nance, Catherine Foster and Betty Jo Sturman.

Services Tuesday April 18, 2006 in Ermert Funeral Home chapel with J.T. Ashby officiating.Burial in Corning Cemetery under direction of Ermert Funeral Home.

Note: They had 3 children, first was a stillborn female.
