Son of James Burl Turner and Tula Mae Johnson. A retired farmer, affiliated with the Missionary Baptist Church, Neelyville, he was an avid deer and turkey hunter.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; two daughters, Nelma Jean Kirby and Thelma Mae Turner; grandson, Richard Kevin Hayes; one sister, Analeen Laughlin; five brothers, Denver, Cecil, Dale, Harold and Wayne Turner.
Funeral services, Monday, November 21, 2005 in Ermert Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Billy J. Snow officiating.
