MELBOURNE — Evelyn Clara Claassen Hoskinds, 86, of Melbourne died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at her home.
Born Jan. 15, 1926, in Norwood, Ohio, she was the daughter of Walter and Florence Frye Claassen. She was united in marriage to Raymond Lloyd Hoskinds on Jan. 14, 1946, in Norwood. She was a homemaker and attended First Baptist Church in Melbourne.
Survivors include 12 children, Clara Hames, Rick Hoskinds, Patty Loggains, Dave Hoskinds, Marvin Hoskinds, Tim Hoskinds and Rodney Hoskinds, all of Melbourne, Carol Thacker of Dayton, Ohio, Danny Hoskinds of Berryville, Janet McLemore of Chattanooga, Tenn., Jeff Hoskinds of Oklahoma City and Anita Love of Brookland; two stepchildren, Larry Hoskinds of Friendship, Ind., and Bennett Hoskinds of Fairfield, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Terry Hoskinds; a daughter, Phyllis Shotts; a grandson, Drake Love; and five stepchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Rick Burke and Randy Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be Jim Muncy, Donnie Gulley, Dennis Harmon, Lorne Savell, Quentin Teegarden and Doyle McCollum.
Honorary pallbearers are H.P. Langston, Billy Wayne Yancey, David Clark and Son Lamb.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
