ROGERS — Mildred Pearl Smith, 88, of Rogers, formerly of Springdale, passed away Dec. 29, 2011, in Bentonville. Mildred was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Decatur, Ark., the daughter of Albert and Dora Henry Townzen.
She retired from Daisy Manufacturing and was a member of the Colonial Baptist Church in Rogers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, H. Gregory Smith; and her brothers, Arthur, Charles, Howard, Bud, Ernie and Glen Townzen.
Survived by her children, Wanda Cruse of the home and Connie Kincy and husband, Dennis, both of Rogers, and Dale Smith of San Diego, Calif.; her brother, Leslie Townzen of Bentonville; five grandchildren, Tammy Cline, Steve Birchfield, Tracy King, Jason Curtis and Amy Smith; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at the Colonial Baptist Church in Rogers, with Pastor Claud Slate officiating. Interment will be at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., in Rogers.
