FAYETTEVILLE — Owen "Jack" Oxford, 58, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, after a brave battle with cancer.

He was born April 8, 1953, the son of Bert and Lola Gray-Oxford, and was a life-long resident of Fayetteville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Bill and Raymond Oxford; and sister, Peggy Morris.

Jack was an electrician with King Electric for many years. He was most recently employed at the Fayetteville Senior Center.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Watkins of Cypress, Texas; brother-in-law, Larry Morris of Prairie Grove; nieces, Sarah McGinnis-Cox, Carol McGinnis-Bellas, Betty Jo Morris, Laura Watkins and Melanie Watkins; nephews, Scott Watkins and Peter Watkins; and many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at Beard's Chapel with Pastor Charlie Brown officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Beard's Chapel.
