Dean Estes Massey, 49 of Benton, passed away April 13, 2014. He was born March 7, 1965 in Little Rock to Bill Massey and Betty Chalk Massey. Dean was preceded in death by his son, Zackery Massey, mother, Betty Massey, paternal grandparents, W.C. and Elvie Massey, maternal grandparents, Amos and Cleba Chalk.
Survivors, father, Bill Massey, half brother, Mark Massey, half sisters, Linda Henry Smith , Sharon Hill, Vicki Cauldwell, and Patti Couch Henry , step daughter, Charli Atkins and numerous family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Raper, Michael Raper, Duncan Williams, Drew Collatt, Randy Smith, Tyler Crouch, Wes Pilcher and John Burcham.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dwight Williams and Mark Shaw.
Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Burial will follow at Massey Cemetery in Beebe, Arkansas.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. before service time.
The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to all the people who have acted as Dean’s nurses and caregivers over the years and provided him with care and companionship, especially Karen Massey for the love and care she has shown to make his life more comfortable and enjoyable.
In life, Dean faced many hardships and trials, yet he always faced them with courage and perseverance. He will always be remembered for his unrelenting positive spirit, generosity and caring friendship. Dean had an amazing capacity for love. He was an inspiration to anyone who ever met him. Dean was an exceptional man and will be greatly missed.
