John Jerry “J.J.” Ison, 72, of Greenbrier, passed away at home with family on May 23, 2015.
He was born on Feb. 5, 1943 in North Little Rock to John Conrad and Ophelia (Lanford) Ison.
John Jerry worked for Southwestern Bell for 38 years, was a member of the Arkansas Shorthorn and Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association for many years and was vice president of the Jaycees. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
John Jerry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Laurie Lynn (Robinson) Ison; daughter, Donna Burnett (Martin) of Greenbrier; sons, Kevin Ison (Kim) of Greenbrier and Brian Ison (Gina) of McRae, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Harlan (Dale); and brother, Randy Ison (Marie).
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thanks to Baptist Home Healthcare, especially to Sharon and Susan, Dr. Steven Hutchins and his nurse Lola of Baptist Heart and Dr. Stephen Long of Conway.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Grissard Cemetery in El Paso, Ark.
Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street.
