Warren J. "Jack" Anglin, 53, of Smackover, Route 1, died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday in a local hospital after an apparent heart attack. He was born Oct. 25, 1910, in the Caledonia community, the son of Robert and Ada Templeton Anglin. He was an independent oil operator and had been a Smackover resident for 25 years. He was a member of the Joyce City Baptist Church and of the Warren G. Harding Masonic Lodge 717. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maude Palmer Anglin, of Smackover; one son, W. J. "Bill" Anglin of Royal Oak, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Bob Shamburger of Salem, Ill.; three brothers, R. H. Anglin of Empire, Ore. and Guy B. Anglin and A. L. Anglin, both of Smackover; a sister, Mrs. C. M. Stanfield of La Marque, Tex.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Smackover with the Rev. D. C. McAtee and the Rev. James D. Biram officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery by Rumph Mortuary. Active pallbearers will be Melton Norrell, L. O. Williams, Sr., Dewitt Crow, J. R. Thomas, Harold Voris, Sam Stone, Albert Grant, and W. H. White, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Warren G. Harding Masonic Lodge of Smackover. The casket will remain at the mortuary until two hours before time for the service. (The El Dorado Times - June 13, 1964)
