August 22, 1898 - May 20, 1968
Mrs. Mae Carrie Telford, 69, died Tuesday in a Smackover hospital. Born in Ouachita County, Aug. 22, 1898, she was the daughter of E. T. and Mollie Pevatoe Turbeville. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Ernest T. May, El Dorado; a daughter, Mrs. Tessie Ward, Shreveport; eight grandchildren and eight Great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Cemetery under direction of Rumph Mortuary. The body was taken to the family home, 848 Rock Island St., Wednesday afternoon. (El Dorado Times - May 22, 1868)
