Lucille Barnwell, 77, of Batesville died Wednesday, March 26, 1997, in a local nursing home. Born in Melbourne on July 11, 1919, she was the daughter of Dr. Robert L. Smith and Georgia Ann Taylor Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Smith of Searcy; a sister, Clara Girkin of Searcy; and two grandchildren, Denise Martin and Stacy Bright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Barnwell; a sister, Lily Lee Dixon; two half-sisters, Elsie Ramondine and Lola Phillips; and a half-brother. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Don Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Melbourne Cemetery
