Eliza Watson Dies at Age of 99 Years
Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Cordia Watson, age 99, were conducted Saturday morning, October 31, in the Ermert Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend J. A. Nochta officiating.
A former resident of Route Two, Corning, she was born February 27, 1888 in Poynor, Missouri and died October 28, 1987 in Corning Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Telton Watson, who died December 19, 1970, having married January 16, 1923 at Palatka. She was a member of the House of Prayer, Corning.
Survivors are one son, Van Watson of St. Charles, Missouri; one daughter, Villa White of Mission, Texas; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Sam Brown of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by one son, Venson Watson, in 1980.
Burial was in Corning Cemetery. Pallbearers were Colen White, Richard Bowler, Jeff Meyer, Doug Kunce, Raymond Brown, and Jerry Watson.
