Nobie Irene Lankford

CAVE CITY – Nobie Irene Lankford, 81, of Sidney died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at a nursing home in Sidney.

Born Feb. 22, 1922, at Sage, she was the daughter of Ben Woods and Mattie Tomlinson Woods.

She was a retired grocery store owner at Evening Shade and a member of First Baptist Church at Evening Shade.

Survivors include a son, David Lankford of Pottsboro, Texas; a daughter, Ann Smart of Evening Shade; a sister, Esther Finley of Zion; four grandchildren, John David Smart, Wayne Smart, Calvin Lankford and Ramsey Robison; a great-grandson, Eli Smart; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Lankford; five brothers, Hayden Woods, Earl Woods, Lester Woods, Chester Woods and J.G. Woods; and three sisters, Agnes Green, Myrtle Brewster and Letha Woods.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Evening Shade with Noble Wiles officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery at Zion with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be Don Green, Frankie Sharp, Wayne Smart, Mike Sharp, Benny Finley, Rayburn Finley and Ted Farris.

Honorary pallbearer will be John W. Sharp.
