Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services
A Funeral Service for Bettie Gene Strong of Salesville, Arkansas, will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Halls Chapel, with Reverend Dave Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, November 28, 2014 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Bettie passed away November 23, 2014, in Salesville, Arkansas at the age of 73. She was born May 16, 1941, in Jordan, Arkansas, the daughter of George and Thelma Hammond Sanders. She was an avid reader who enjoyed her time with friends and family.
Bettie is survived by her two sons, Michael McQueen of Salesville, AR and Steven and husband Alejandro McQueen of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Monica Larkin of Lodi, CA; five grandchildren, Sean McQueen, Shane Olson and Daniel, Leann and Nathan Larkin; three great-grandchildren; brother, George Sanders of Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruby Boyer and Ruth Sanders.
Burial will be in the Hand Cemetery, Jordan, Arkansas, with Sean McQueen, Shane Olson, Ronald Olson, Roy Sanders, George Clark and Greg Skidmore as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Area on Aging.
