MELBOURNE — Delma Cleo "Skinny" Rush, 84, of Melbourne died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in Batesville.
Born Dec. 23, 1927, in Jumbo, he was the son of Ruford and Virgie Vest Rush. He was a lifelong resident of Izard County. In 1945 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Izard County, where he farmed and worked as a carpenter.
Survivors include a brother, Franklin "Fuzzy" Rush of Jumbo; two sisters, Jewel Bundy of Tulsa, Okla., and Vera Bowers of Millington, Tenn.; eight nephews; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, J.L. Rush and Harlin Rush; and four sisters, Marie Blankenship, Bonnie Langston, Deloris Easter and Alma Moore.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be Philip Melton, Jerry Melton, Lee Campbell Watson, Clovis Vest, Kenneth Vest and Doug Sipe.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
