C. C. Mathis, 92, died in Clay Healthcare, Corning. He was the son of Johnny Franklin and Myrtle Mae (Balch) Mathis. He was a farmer and affiliated with the Grassylead Church of Christ. He married Lenomia Bridges on November 1, 1936 in Jackson County.
Survivors are one brother, Alton Mathis, Newport; two sisters, Getha Lee Powers, Newport, and Anita Mae Proffit, Newport, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bill Taylor, Burton Edington, Bobby Ingram, Jody Ingram, Keith Ingram and Chad Edwards.
Graveside services were conducted Friday afternoon January 30 in Corning Cemetery with Sidney McFarland officiating. Services under direction of Ermert Funeral Home.
