Louie Lunnie Franks, Sr., 76, Gassville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his residence. Lunnie was born April 11, 1939 to John Allen and Trilba (Acklin) Franks in Advance, Arkansas. He married Joyce White on October 10, 1962. Lunnie was a life-long resident of the Monkey Run area where he was employed by Guy King and Sons and Baxter County Road and Bridge Department. Prior to his retirement, Lunnie was a dedicated employee and enjoyed his work. He worked long hours to provide for his family and never met a stranger. He was always willing to help and enjoyed being able to lend a hand when needed. He was a member of the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. Lunnie is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Joyce; four children, Allen (Deanna) Franks, Cathy (Brian) Clark, Debbie (Charles) Grinder and Louie (Sarah) Franks; eleven grandchildren, Cody Clark (Kristi Johnson), Carson Franks, Jordan (Kaylan) Robbins, Nicki (Gabe) Wiggins, Clayton Franks, Levi Grinder, Hunter Grinder, Ethan Franks, Emma Franks, Eli Franks and Eadie Franks; two great-grandchildren, Korbin Robbins and Rhett Wiggins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, two brothers and two sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home & Cremation Center. A visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Conner-Hankins Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Gassville at 2 p.m. with Bro. Gene Carson and Bro. Gary Wise officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
