ROGERS — Pilar Giner Jurado, 86, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in Bentonville, Ark. He was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Candelaria, Texas, to Eugenio Jurado and Concepcion Giner Jurado.

He was an avid golfer, a retired farm contractor and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers.

This loving husband, father and papa will always be remembered for his generous heart, gentle manner and his deep love and affection for his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ruben Jurado.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Jurado; one son, Pilar Jurado Jr. of Ontario, Calif.; two daughters, Gisel Ruiz and husband, Mike, of Rogers, Ark., Elda Scott and husband, Eric, of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Maria Campos of Los Banos, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m., with Monsignor David LeSieur officiating. Burial will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers.

In the spirit of Mr. Jurado's lifetime of generosity and kindness, the family asked that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society to help bring food, clothing and other assistance to those in need. Please mail donations to 1416 W. Poplar, Rogers, AR 72758.
