MELBOURNE — Leona Mae Saucier Kipfer, 78, of Melbourne died Dec. 28, 2010, at her home.
Born Jan. 27, 1932, in Topeka, Kan., she was the daughter of Emet and Ethel Bryant Saucier. She was united in marriage to Arnold John Kipfer on June 27, 1950, in Clarksville. She was a homemaker and was employed by the Linden, Mich., School System as a custodian. She was a member of Brockwell Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years; two sons, Arnold Junior Kipfer and Phillip Allen Kipfer, both of Loveland, Colo.; two daughters, Faye Louise Sulkowski of Whitney, Texas, and Sharie Lynn Kipfer of Melbourne; five sisters, Leota Faye Devincolis of Marietta, Ga., Lois Eileene McIlory of Flint, Mich., Mary Darlene Shmidt of Richmond, Va., Georgia Dean Rhay of Portland, Ore., and Ethelene J. Kirk of Gresham, Ore.; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca Denise Haskins, Travis Kipfer, April Kipfer, Samantha Kipfer, Rachel Kipfer, Darrell Sulkowski, Kenneth Sulkowski, Allen Kipfer, Heather Vaile and Eziekel Kipfer; 11 great-grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Nicole Haskins, Tate Albright, Jordan Sulkowski, Asheligh Sulkowski, Alexis Sulkowski, Kieran Sulkowski, Phillip Sulkowski, Anna Patrick, Evelyn Stowe and Darrius Vaile; a great-great-granddaughter, Amorah Sisco; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Kipfer; a brother, Sonny Saucier; and three sisters, Emiline Jean Saucier Fenton, Shirley Ruth Saucier and an infant, Deloris Saucier.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel with Ken Vest officiating. Burial was in Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Darrell Sulkowski, Allen Kipfer, James Vaile, Arnold Junior Kipfer, Adam Fitzsimmons and Phillip Kipfer.
