Villa Reba Jones Gillihan, daughter of the late Jimmy Jones and Ethel Moser Jones, was born October 26, 1925 in Lafferty, Arkansas. She departed this life January 9, 2014 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage to Elmer Garland “Doker” Gillihan on May 7, 1949 in Melbourne, Arkansas and to this union five children were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother homemaker and friend. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law: Donnie and Ruth Gillihan of Melbourne, Carl and Vicky Gillihan, Larry and Toni Gillihan, Randy (Joe) and Jackie Gillihan all of Escalon, California; one daughter: Cathy Gillihan of Cave City; eleven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years; three brothers: Edgar Jones; Everett Jones and Estes Jones; two sisters: Rogie Wren and Bonnie Jones and one grandchild.
Funeral service will be Thursday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial will be at Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 15 from 6-8PM
Pallbearers: D. J. Dutton, Danny Gillihan, Bobbie Jones, Travis Lewis, John Kuykendall, Wayne Langston.
