MINOR HILL, Tenn. — Roger Lee Hattabaugh, 65, died peacefully on Thursday, May, 30, 2013, at his home in Minor Hill, Tenn. A longtime resident of Hazel Valley, he was born on March 24, 1948, near Sunset, Ark., to the late Albert and Oma (Long) Hattabaugh. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary (LaMonica) Hattabaugh; and two brothers, Jerry Hattabaugh and Burl Hattabaugh.

Roger was a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy and a retired employee of the Washington County Road Department. He loved riding and training his horses (with his faithful dog, Jezebel, at his side), camping, and spending time with his family, most especially with his cousin, Juan.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; two sons, Lee Hattabaugh (Sandy) of Capshaw, Ala., and Steven Hattabaugh of Lowell, Ark.; three sisters, Georgia Waites (Jim) of Huntsville, Ala., Dorothy Miller (Bobby Joe) of Hazey Valley, Ark., and Ellen Clough (Eddie) of Grove, Okla.; three brothers, Junior of Chelan, Wash., Jim (Sara) of Fort Smith, Ark., and Randy (Dorothy) of Lowell, Ark.; three grandsons, Andrew Brink, Joness Hattabaugh and Logan Hattabaugh, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was dearly loved by all who knew him and his friendly nature and ever-present smile will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life and memorial service will be held Monday, June 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Hazel Valley Community Church. Burial of ashes will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
