Mrs. Maggie Murphy Hawkins, 78, Winslow, died Oct. 27 at her home. Born April 18, 1897, in Free Stone County, Tex., she was the daughter of Nathaniel M. and Dovetta Quillin Murphy and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Robert Roland Spears, Sunset community; two daughters, Mrs. Dovetta Ready, Springdale, and Mrs. Dorothy Sholars, Dallas, Tex.; two brothers, Alfred Murphy and George Murphy, Buffalo, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Katie Sudduth, Dallas, Tex.; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Temple Hill Church with the Rev. M.C. Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.
