Killed when his Army truck overturned near Ephrata, Washington. Son of Mrs. W. H. Porter of East Prairie, Missouri.
He married Opal Matheny Jan 22 and was inducted the next day. He was first stationed at Fort Frances E. Warren, WY for training in the Quartermaster Corps. He had been at Ephrata Air Base for three months. He was survived by his mother, his brother, William Eastwood of East Prairie, and his sister, Mrs. Clara Dabbs of Blytheville, Arkansas.
