Billy Lee Engles, son of the late Roy Lee Engles and Lillie Pryor Engles, was born February 15, 1934 in Guion, Arkansas. He departed this life October 23, 2015 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Zelda Elnora Adkisson February 14, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas and to this union two sons were born. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. He was employed by Silica Products as a maintenance supervisor, retiring after 42 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Zelda Engles of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Don Engles of Guion and Randy and Stacie Engles of Guion; one sister: Ida Mae Frazier of Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne; one granddaughter: Brandie Magness of Hot Springs and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Mildred Arnold and Armilda Grammar.
Funeral service will be Saturday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Gerald Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Saturday, October 24 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Jerry Frazier, Kerry Caraway, Kris Caraway, Kenneth Frazier, Lynn Pittman and Trevor Pittman
Honorary Pallbearers: Shelby Upton, Dick Williamson, Howard Lamb, Julice Condrey and Paul Seay.
