Larry K. Hanson, 80, of Mount Pleasant, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 6, 2015 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born in West Concord, MN on October 15, 1935, and was the son of Edward J. and Clara A. (French) Hanson.
After he had gone to Northwestern Bible College, he joined the United States Marine Corp. When he left the Marines, he went to work for Autonetics Aviation in California. When he came to Arkansas, he worked for the Arkansas Highway Department before becoming self-employed with a bakery. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ferguson Hanson, of the home; two sons, Michael Hanson and his wife, Debbie of Batesville, Andrew Hanson and his wife, Sara, of La Plata, NM; three daughters, Pam Corley and her husband, Paul, of Farmington, NM, Trish Hanson of Lancaster, CA, and Penny Finley of Mount Pleasant.
Other survivors include his 20 grandchildren, Matt, Michael, and Chris Hanson, Tiffany Neal, Cameron, Cheyanne, Clayton, and Chandler Corley, Anna Martin, Bret and Cory DeYoung, Ryan, Ethan, Gavin, Ashton, Tristin, Maggie, Hayden, Christian, and Eliana Hanson; and eleven great-grandchildren, Kysen Malland, Quentin Hanson, Dylan Hanson, Chloe Hanson, Brylee Hanson, Maddie Hanson, Emmie Hanson, Lyric Hanson, Kolton Neal, Zane Martin, and Charlee DeYoung.
He is also survived by six brothers, Glen Hanson and his wife, Mary Lou, of West Concord, MN, Roger Hanson and his wife, Sharon, of Kenyon, MN, Phil Hanson and his wife, Barb, of West Concord, David Hanson and his wife, Brenda of Owatonna, MN, Jim Hanson and his wife, Lauri, of Ham Lake, MN, and Tim Hanson and his wife, Laurie, of Wanamingo, MN; and two sisters, Louise Severud and her husband, Todd, of West Concord, and Anola Lakemacher of Rolling Meadows, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeff Hanson; three brothers, Loren Hanson, Steven Hanson, and Rodney Hanson; and one sister, Susan Hanson.
Pallbearers will be Matt Hanson, Chris Hanson, Cory DeYoung, Cameron Corley, Clayton Corley, Chandler Corley, Ryan Hanson, Ethan Hanson, and Gavin Hanson. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Hanson, Bret DeYoung, Tony Neal, Allen Martin, Dub Evans, Owen Nuskee, Trey Smith, Kyle Payne, and T.J. Anderson.
The funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant with Bro. Larry Chappell officiating.
Burial will follow at Reeves Cemetery in Guion under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
