Mr. Lowell W. "Joe" Skaggs, 91, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, AR.

Mr. Skaggs was born in West Plains, MO., on January 17, 1922.

He was a retired farmer, he enjoyed playing dominoes and cards. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. He was affiliated with Grace Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death on May 2, 2012, by his wife; his parents Benjamen Buckley "Buck" and Ora (Woods) Skaggs; two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Corning Cemetery.

Mrs. Helen Frances Skaggs, 80, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at home with her family.

Mrs. Skaggs was born in Boydsville, AR., on November 12, 1931.

She held many jobs through out her lifetime, having worked at the shoe factory, Basler Electric Company, Walmart as a department manager and the former Corning Nursing Home as a C.N.A.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting, attending auctions, fishing, spending time with family and babysitting her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Corning, AR.

She married her husband Lowell W. "Joe" Skaggs on May 2, 1947.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Lessie (Phillips) Toombs; son Windell Lowell Skaggs and brother Farris Toombs.

Funeral services were in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Corning Cemetery.
