Chester Ray Beaird, 65, of 1217 Combs St., died Sunday in a local hospital after a short illness. He was born in Pickering, La., the son of Marion and Katherine Rutherford Beaird. Beaird was a retired sales representative for Lever Brothers Corp., and had been a resident of El Dorado for the last 20 years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Juanita Burke Beaird; a son, Bobby Beaird of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. W. E. Carter of Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Hazel Davison of Orange, Tex. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Rumph Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Bray officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Active pallbearers will be Robert Harrell, Don Arkinson, William Reynolds, Scott Mouton, David Varnell, Dr. Jacob Ellis, R. Levitt, and Capt. Thomas Randolph. (El Dorado Times - December 3, 1968)
