Joann Franklin, 62, of Russellville, AR, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
The daughter of Herman and Helen Gray, she was born August 18, 1950 in Russellville, AR. She married Paul Franklin, on August 31, 1972 at Russellville.
She was an assistant administrator with Burns Security. She was a member of the Pilgram Rest Missionary Baptist Church #1 in Russellville. She enjoyed painting, photography and a variety of other things, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Franklin; two grandchildren, Phillip Turnbough and Adara Franklin; her parents; and two sisters, Glenda Gray and Jackie Nichols.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Franklin; four children, April Gilmore & husband James, Leland Franklin, Paul Franklin & wife Stephanie, Chris Franklin & wife Kelly, all of Russellville; 16 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brother, Glenn Gray and wife Ina of Katy, TX, Ronnie Gray of Kansas City, MO; # sisters, Melba Young, Susan Hall, both of Chicago, IL, Joy Gray, Yvonne Gray, Yvette Gray, Nicole Gray, all of Kansas City, MO; step mother, Lois Gray of Kansas City, MO; aunt, Lucille Taylor of Kansas City, MO; great aunt, Ernestine Jackson of Russellville; uncle, Nathaniel Gray of IL; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Pilgrim Rest #1 Missionary Baptist Church in Russellville. Rev Tony Dorsey will officiate. Burial will be at Reed Cemetery in Russellville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M., on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the funeral home.
