Mrs. Cecelia Nance Died Suddenly Here
Clay County Courier - Corning, Clay, AR - Thursday, 29 Jan 1953
Mrs. Cecelia Ann Nance, wife of A. G. Nance, and one of Corning's best loved matrons died suddenly at her home here early Friday morning, January 23. Apparently in good health, her death came as a shock to the community immediately following a heart attack about five o'clock that morning.

She was born June 18, 1882 in Boxley, Indiana and was 70 years of age. She came to Corning with her parents when she was about four years old.
She was married to A. G. Nance in 1903. The couple would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

She became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age. Surviving her are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Earl Day of Corning, Mrs. J. H. Parkinson of Caruthersville and Mrs. Leon Williamson of Biggers; one brother, O. J. Harold, city; two sisters, Mrs. Zerna Robinson, city, and Mrs. Ella Nance, of Memphis; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here Sunday, January 25, at 2 o'clock. The Rev. A. W. Harris, pastor, paid tribute to her as a christian wife and mother. The large number of floral offerings attested to the high esteem in which she was held.

Burial was in Corning Cemetery with Russell-Ermert Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Don Harold, James Rhodes, Dan Harold, Everett Evans, Jim Kersey and Amby Robinson.
