Ely Burton Clapp, 71, of Winslow, died Dec. 27 in a Fayetteville Hospital. Born June 21, 1908, at Alice, Texas, he was the son of Ely Arnold and Ozella Pearl Maley Clapp and was a retired electrician and refrigerator man. He moved to the area in 1972 and was a member of Winslow United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Rigsby Clapp of the home; three sons, R.B. Clapp of Houston, Texas, E.B. Clapp of Magnolia, Texas, and Charles M. Clapp of West Fork; two stepsons, Philip McNeal of Dallas, Texas, and Benny McNeal of Kilgore, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Schaefer of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Jeanette Yniguez of Kilgore, Texas, and Mrs. Luann Parker of Dallas, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Moore's Chapel with the Rev. Bill Sonneman officiating. Burial will be in Parks Cemetery at Winslow.
