Edith Catherine Tolbert
On January 26, 2014, Edith Catherine Tolbert, 78, passed through heaven’s gate after a period of declining health. She is survived by her brother, Cleo Tolbert, nieces & nephews: Kenneth, Douglas & Rita Richey Smith, Tim Tolbert, great-nieces & nephews: CJ Smith, Lucy Richey Edwards, Amanda Richey Maness, Kenny Richey, Michael & wife Jami Hughes, great-great nieces & nephews: Siarrah, Arwyn & James, Kaitlyn & Kynzie, Ethan.

Ms. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, the late William Franklin & Nettie Ann Creek Tolbert, brothers: John, Lester, Mack Tolbert & sister, Mae Lucille Tolbert.

Ms. Edith was born at home in the Richwood community near Walnut Ridge. The family later moved to the Smithville community & obtained the family farm. She spent most of her adult life living in the Fort Smith area. She retired from Vista Health (Harbor View Health & Rehab) as a Nutritional Services Coordinator. She was an active member of Howard Hill Assembly of God of Greenwood, AR. Her hobbies included cooking & cake decorating. She became a caregiver of her brother.

Ms Edith was known & loved best for her open heart & open arms to all she encounted; a multitude of friends, neighbors, co-workers. She openly accepted everyone as family & became “Aunt Edith”, or “Aunt B”.

Ms Edith was loving cared for by her church family, the staff of Mercy hospital & Sparks Select Specialty.
