George H. Luther, 88, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, May 10, 1994, at Washington Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 19, 1905, at the Savoy community, a son of Vester and Anna Howe Luther, he was a retired pipe fitter for Willard Battery of Whittier, Calif., and a member of the Providence Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He was a Navy veteran.

Survivors are his wife, Glenna Edith Luther of the home; a son, Ernel Luther of Vienna, Va.; two daughters, Donna Breit of Ontario, Calif., and Glenna Peters of Fayetteville; three brothers, Fay Luther of the Savoy community, Homer Luther of Oxnard, Calif., and Otis Luther of Mount Shasta, Calif.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Long officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery near Wheeler under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 5 to 6 p.m. both days.
