The Old Burge Cemetery
My own sacred parcel of ground!

I feel sweet peace while here.
This is where I commune with loved ones, their presence is always near.

There's Andy, Nancy, Margaret, Sarah and sweet Amanda Adaline.
Sure, they are just names to others but all loved ones of mine.

Anderson Burge brought his family, Sarah and six rambunctious kids in tow.
to Arkansas from Mississippi, back when travel was so slow.

For some reason, Sarah grew ill and died, Malinda Adeline was not far behind.

Andy had to work really fast, another mother he had to find.

That's when Nancy came along, a young girl not quite twenty.
Eleven children she raised as God loving souls!
Her praises will be many!

Margaret VJ Perkey was a beautiful young wife!
Bucky Burge was the man of her dreams.
After three strapping boys and a set of twin girls, her heart gave out it seems.

There are more buried here, Burge relatives for the most part.
Not much is known about each of them but they all have my heart!

They all belong to my Family and I'll claim everyone!
There will be a grand reunion some day, meeting them will be such fun!

I pray each night that the little cemetery where those I love reside,
will be watched over and protected and the sweet spirit of heaven will abide!
