Obituary
Olmstead Funeral Home Inc.
The entire county shares in the deep sense of loss felt by the family and many friends of Charlie Grady Holley of Edgemont, who passed away at Heber Springs, July 27, 1968 following a lengthy illness.
A member of a distinguished Van Buren County family, Mr. Holley was born at Clinton, March 20, 1890 but had resided in Cleburne County for the greater part of his life.
Mr. Holley was a retired postmaster but had many interests beyond the post office, however, as he was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and of the Baptist Church.
Mr. Holley's life as a man of affairs, consistent churchman and good citizen had reached 78 years last March. In the long span that included his business activities and public service, he had won a high and respected place throughout his adopted county.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Abagail Davis Holley; two sons, Leon and Charles Holley, Jr.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Rev. Thomas Simmons officiated at the final tribute at 2?30 p.m., Monday, July 29 at Olmstead Chapel. Music was by a quartet, Walter Aldridge, Jackie Pettit, Roger Pettit and Dorothy Stark with Ara Sue Ramsey, accompanist.
Interment was at Davis Special Cemetery by Olmstead Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were E. H. Irwin, Jack Mullens, J. L. Mullens, Jr., S. B. Rector, Maurice Love and Archie Jennings.
