Gladys Ray Davis Brumitt-Martin, 85, passed away on November 22, 2013, peacefully at home from natural causes. Gladys was born on May 19, 1928, to Oliver W. and Martha M. Davis in Shirley, Arkansas, and later became a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Gladys married Ralph Brumitt, then divorced, then married Marty Martin. Gladys worked for 30 years at the Simplicity Pattern Company in Niles, Michigan, and after her retirement, Gladys relocated to Quitman, then Heber Springs, Arkansas, to enjoy her retirement years by her family.
Gladys enjoyed quilt making, doll collecting, and worked part time selling Avon. She was a member of TOPS.
Gladys is survived by her five children, Linda G. Bridgewater of Granger, Indiana, Ronald O. Brumitt of Salt Lake City, Utah, Janice M. Brumitt of Tucson, Arizona, Michael R. Brumitt of Niles, Michigan, and Gregory R. Brumitt of Nashville, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; four sisters, Beulah Mitchell of Quitman, Arkansas, Eulah Simmons of Marysville, California, Lois Lane of Pittsburg, California, and Geneva McGowen of Sacramento, California; two brothers, Buford Davis of Wheatland, California, and Carl Cupler, Jr. of Marysville, California.
Preceded in death to Gladys is her brother, Donnie Cupler of Wheatland, California, and Coy Davis of Greers Ferry, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 29, at beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Davis Special Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home.
