Dorothy Ann
Nov 1896 - Mar 17, 1972

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 at the Davis Special Cemetery for Mrs. Dorothy Ann Goetting of Shirley who passed away at her home on Friday, March 17, 1972 at the age of 75.
Mrs. Goetting was the widow of "Pop" Goetting and had been a resident of Shirley for the past four years. She was born near Green Bay, Wis., in November of 1896. Being left an orphan in early childhood, she lived with foster parents, but went out into the world at an early age to make her own way. She married at an early age, but her husband was killed in World War I. In 1949 she married Charles Karl Goetting and they later moved to Shirley to make their home where he preceded her in death in 1955.
Mrs. Goetting spent most of her life in Kansas City, Mo., where she worked as a cook in a nursing home. She was an excellent cook and her pleasant and unselfish disposition made her welcome wherever she went. Although she was not a member of any church, she believed in God and went into his presence unafraid.
She has no immediate family survivors except three step children and many friends.
Rev. Glenn Williams officiated at the final tribute. Interment was by Olmstead Funeral Service.
Friends of the deceased served as pallbearers.
