Obituary:

MOUNTAIN VIEW – David Brad Burnette Sr., 49, of Mountain View died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, in Mountain View.

Born Dec. 16, 1954, in Appalachia, Va., he was the son of Bradford C. Burnette and Helen Gregg Burnette. He attended Mid-South Christian College where he earned his master’s degree in ancient Greek. After preaching for several years, he enrolled in medical school and graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine with honors. Years later, he moved to Mountain View where he opened up his practice.

Survivors include his wife, Belinda Burnette; his parents, of Asheville, N.C.; three sons, David Burnette of Nashville, Tenn., Daniel Burnette and John Burnette, both of Little Rock; two sisters, Christina Loyd of Colliersville, Tenn., and Angie Gibson of Johnson City, Tenn.; a stepson, Jeremy Burns of Pine Bluff; two stepdaughters, Juliana Burns of Kansas City, Mo., and Emmalea Burns of Mountain View; and a stepgranddaughter, Aubriana Burns.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at School Avenue Church of Christ with Frank Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Flatwoods Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Mountain View.

Pallbearers will be Harrison Dunn, Steven Koren, Dana Woods, Duane Dutka, Dr. James Zini and John Dan Kemp.
