Willie Ray Croom, 71 of Powhatan, died Saturday November 28, 2015 at home. Born April 19, 1944 in Powhatan to Willie “Buster” Raymond Croom and Gladys Colbert Croom-Woodson.
He was a lifetime resident of Powhatan . He was a retired tug boat pilot and truck driver, and a member of the Pentecost Church of Jesus Christ in Hoxie. Willie enjoyed classic cars, skeet shooting with his Remington Nylon 66 and deer hunting.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billie James Croom.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Loretta Croom, of the home; sons, Billy Croom and wife Candy of Cave City, Stephen Croom and wife Stephanie of Portia; daughters, Tammy Croom of the home, Jacquline Croom Vesey and husband Ron of Abilene, Texas; brothers, Mike Croom and wife Kristi of Black Rock and Raymond Croom; sisters, Teresa Scott of Walnut Ridge and Tywana Wiles and husband Peter of Charleston, Illinois; Six grandchildren, Miranda, Jacob, and Jordan Vesey of Abilene, Texas and Hunter, Carley and Addison Croom of Portia.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 01, 2015 at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, with Sister Rebecca LaPiro officiating. Burial will follow at Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 01, 2015 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
Pallbearers: Bradley Scott, Artis Roush, Randy Robins, Ron Ervin, Clint Ervin, Robert Gilbert.
Honorary: Eldon Whitmire, Buford Eagan, Danny Smith, Marvin Gilbert, Ron Vesey, Kenny Whitmire.
