March 12, 1893 - September 18, 1965
Mrs. Pearl Duke, 73, of 2912 Junction City Road, died in a local hospital at 4:30 p.m. Thursday following a long illness. Mrs. Duke was born in Union County on March 12, 1892 and was the daughter of Frank and Ella Lum Patterson. She was a lifelong resident of this area and was a member of the Knowles Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late H. E. Duke, who died in 1952. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Edith Harrison of El Dorado; one brother, John Patterson of Crossett; three sisters, Mrs. Floyd Sanford and Mrs. Ray Kemp of Plaquemine, La.; and Mrs. Norman Frisby of Strong; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with Rev. J. W. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Clarence Sivils, Calvin Fletcher, Huey Patterson, Lloyd Frisby, Earnest Frisby and Joe Risher. The body will remain at the mortuary. (The El Dorado Times - September 17, 1965)
