March 28, 1882 - November 3, 1968
Delaney L. Hicks, 86, died in a local hospital early Sunday morning after a brief illness. He was born on March 28, 1882, the son of John L. and Zoe Ella Gill Hicks in Farmerville, La. He was a retired contractor and farmer and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Hubert Allen of El Dorado; two brothers, Grover Hicks of Bernice, La., and Grayson Hicks of West Monroe, La.; one sisters, Mrs. J. E. Steward of Farmerville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Young's Chapel at 11 a.m. Monday with Dr. Don Harbuck officiating. Burial followed in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Pallbearers were Curtis Allen, Harold Allen, Ronny Mourot, Roy Goudy, Homer D. Talley and Marvin Loftin.
