Mrs. Evelyn Marie Fielder, 75, of Sedgwick, died Friday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro following a lengthy illness.

She was a lifetime resident of Sedgwick, where she was the owner and operator of Evelyn's Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Sedgwick.

Survivors include her husband, J.S. Fielder of the home; one son, Lanny Fielder of Walnut Ridge; and two brothers, Jack Berry of Sedgwick and Forrest Berry of Molalla, Ore.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 at Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie, with Rev. Michael Smith and Thomy Green officiating. Burial will be in the Old Military Cemetery at Sedgwick.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Marie Fielder, 75, of Sedgwick, who died Friday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, will be Monday afternoon at 2 at Bryan Funeral Home chapel in Hoxie, with Rev. Michael Smith and Thomy Green officiating. Burial will be in the Old Military Cemetery at Sedgwick.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.

The family has asked that persons wishing to leave lasting memorials in lieu of flowers consider the Sedgwick United Methodist Church or the Old Military Cemetery fund.

J.S. Fielder, 92, of Walnut Ridge passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in the St. Bernard’s Medical Center.

Born on March 20, 1924 in Fontaine, son of Tonnie and Lillie Simpson Fielder. He was a farmer, worked over 20 years at Texas Eastern Transmission, and was of the Methodist faith. He also was the Mayor of Sedgewick for 14 years, worked with the Sedgewick Water System, and was the Caretaker of Old Military Cemetery in Sedgewick for many years, up until he was no longer able.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Evelyn Berry Fielder, and his second wife, Mary Bellah Fielder.

He is survived by his son, Lanny Fielder of Walnut Ridge, step-daughter, Peggy (Charles) Hinrichs of Jonesboro, step-son, Ted (Lee) Bellah of Dallas, TX, brother, Eudoris (Arlene) Fielder of Sedgewick, sister, Shirley (Tommie) May of Jonesboro, several step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Lamb officiating. Interment will be in the Old Military Cemetery in Sedgewick.

Visitation will be just prior to the funeral service on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM in the Bryan Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial be made to the Old Military Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to the Old Military Cemetery Sexton, Jeff Worlow at 3275 Hwy 228, Walnut Ridge, AR 72476.
