Betty Sherrill, 79
Betty Louise Sherrill, entered into the embrace of her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2015. She was born to Tom and Dollie Edmonston at LaCrosse, Arkansas on April 16, 1936. Betty married the love of her life, Marvis Sherrill, at First Presbyterian Church in Pineville on May 26, 1955. Betty was first a clerk, then Postmaster at Norfork, Arkansas for 28 years. She loved serving the public and loved her patrons. Betty was active in Eastern Star, attaining the position of Worthy Matron of her order in Calico Rock. She was also active in the VFW Auxiliary at the Wilson-Byler Post in Calico Rock. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Calico Rock and was active in the WMU women's group there. She loved the fellowship there, the people, and especially Brother Kevin and Sister Evelyn. She loved to travel, to work her word puzzles, crochet, and cross stitch, but most of all she had a great love for her family and her family had a great love for her.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marvis Sherrill; one son: Rick Sherrill; one daughter: Barbara Cons (George); two granddaughters: Christy Gray (John) and Stacey Ferretti; six great grandchildren: Jesse Gray, Logan Gray, Dawson Gray, Taryn Nolan, Ryker Ferretti and Taylor Ferretti; two sisters: Nelda Hinson and Linda Johnson; one brother: Cleon Edmonston; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Tom Edmonston and Dollie White; one brother: G. A. Edmonston, two sisters: Jean Bruggeman and JoAnn Ellis; one grandson: Randy Ferretti; one nephew: Mike Bailey and one niece: Elaine Yates.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 7 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Calico Rock with Kevin Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Calico Rock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to WMU at First Baptist Church in Calico Rock.
Pallbearers: Bill Adams, Kenny Hamby, David Smithson, Bobby Hulse, Eric Faulkner and Todd Bradbury.
Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren and Great grandchildren.
