June 22, 1919 - December 16, 1967
James Franklin High, 48, of 534 S. West Ave., died Saturday in a local hospital. Born June 22, 1919 in Peach Orchard, he was the son of William and Mary Silvertooth High. He was a resident of El Dorado for the past 30 years and an employe of Hatcher and Sons Oil Co. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Birdie Summerford High of El Dorado; his mother, Mrs. Horace Mason of El Dorado; a son, Jerry James High of Florien, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Perdue and Miss Mary Frances High, both of Florien, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie David of Estevan, Canada and Mrs. Erta Mae McGarity of El Dorado and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be announced by Rumph Mortuary. The family will be at the home of Essie Russell, 331 W. Cook St., and at the home of Mrs. McGarity, 1315 Craig St. (El Dorado Times - December 18, 1967)
