Carolyn Lockhart Elerson, of Bartlett, TN, formerly of El Dorado, AR, passed away February 5, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Born July 19, 1950, to March, Sr and Rachel (Hanson) Lockhart, she attended Washington High School and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1968. She graduated from Southern State College in Magnolia, AR in 1972 where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting. Among the honors she received there included a listing in Who's Who In American Colleges And Universities. Carolyn earned a Masters in Taxation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her professional career includes Sales Use and Property Tax Manager for FW Woolworth and Sales and Use Tax Manager for Federal Express where she retired in 2009.
Professional highlights include Board of Governors, First Vice President, Second Vice President and President for the Institute of Professionals in Taxation. In 1972 she married her childhood sweetheart George Franklin Elerson, Jr. Their marriage was blessed with three children-Joshua, Jai and Adam and two granddaughters-Raiyn and Noa all of whom survive her. Also, left to cherish her memory is her sister, Nannie Pratt, Englewood, CA and two brothers, March Lockhart, Jr. of El Dorado, AR and Lonell Davis of Los Angeles, CA.
The family will receive guests at a visitation in her honor on Monday, February 9, at the Victory Bible Church, 903 Strong Hwy, El Dorado, AR, from 5-7 pm.
The funeral will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 10, at the Victory Bible Church, with Pastor Ruby Green, officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven/Arlington Cemetery, 702 N. Mosby, El Dorado, under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service. Online guestbook available at www.hendersonsmortuary.com.
