Gayle Eugeina Saylor
Gayle Saylor, 64 of El Dorado AR left this life on Friday January 10, 2014. She was born on April 22, 1949 in Raymondville, Missouri. She is the daughter of the late Roy "Chick" Johnston and Claudia Johnston.
Her mother and father loved Gayle immensely as most people who met Gayle had. Gayle's family was her world. She married Bill Saylor October 21, 1967. She was very close to her siblings. She spent many vacations with her sister Pat and husband Richard. She had many nieces and nephews that she loved and cared for. Anyone who met Gayle was touch by her, including her co-workers. She worked at HDLees in Houston, Missouri then at Wal-mart in Lebanon, Mo. Once moving to El Dorado in 1978, she worked for Country Pride, Amercable, but her true love was in the nursing homes. She made the stay at the nursing home easier for her patients with her kind smile and sweet humor. She worked at Smackover nursing home as the Assistant Administrator and Activity Director at Hillsboro Nursing Home. She loved to entertain while becoming friends with the patients. Whether it was dancing with the residents or listening to the Gospel, everyone knew there wouldn't be a boring moment with Gayle there.!
She loved listening to the" Silver Kickers" and " Elvis" and we know now she is in heaven dancing away.
Outside of work Gayle continued to share her love with not only people but with animals aswell, by volunteering at animal shelters. She was tender when it came to animals that needed a home. If it would fit in her house she would take it in and would show it true love. Gayle loved country and western music. If there was a concert within a couple hour drive, she had a ticket and was ready. She knew all the singers, their songs and the lyrics. Thats probably why she loved "American Idol" If it was on the television, she was watching and voting for who she liked.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister; Sue Lay
Surviving Gayle is her husband; Bill Saylor of El Dorado, a daughter Robin Davis and her husband Greg of El Dorado, a sister; Pat Hicks and husband Richard of Houston, Missouri, a brother; Harry Lee and wife Bev, a brother-in-law; Lonnie Lay, all of Farmington, Missouri and two grandchildren; Rhett Davis and Orie Davis both of El Dorado.
