Nida Geraldine McCoy Ennis, 97 of Walnut Ridge, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge. She was born January 29, 1919 in Newark, Arkansas to Adlie S. McCoy and Essie Henderson McCoy. She was a longtime resident of Walnut Ridge and one of the first Wal-Mart greeters when the store opened in Walnut Ridge. She was also part owner of a grocery store with her husband. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rex Dale Ennis; a son, Ronnie Denton Ennis, and two brothers; James E. McCoy and Burnell McCoy.
Survived by her two sons, Billy Mack Ennis and wife Paula of Jackson, Tennessee, Rex Dale Ennis Jr. and wife Melissa of Conway,Arkansas; One daughter, Joyce Ennis Heffernan of Memphis, Tennessee. Four grandsons; Dr. Charles McNutt, Eric McNutt, Hunter Ennis, and Morgan Ennis. Three granddaughter; Sherry Smith, Ivy French, and Stephanie Snider. 16 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and special friend, Junior Briner.
Funeral Services: Monday, February 15, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, with Rob Combs officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
Pallbearers: Dr. Charles McNutt, Eric McNutt, Hunter Ennis, Morgan Ennis, Mark Evans and Brandon Evans.
Honorary Pallbearers: Garrett Paige, Taylor Paige, Cameron Paige, Logan Paige and Jagger Evans.
