*Obituary
Dorothy Dean Yvernice Johnson, the daughter of Arlessie Roberson and the late L.T. Walker, was born on November 24, 1938 in Emerson, Arkansas.

Dorothy attended McMittress School in Emerson and graduated in 1958. She was employed by Ansell Edmont in Haynesville, Louisiana for 25 years until her retirement.

She married Robert Junior Johnson on April 9, 1960 in Emerson at the home of her grandparents, Artress and Daisy Cooper.

She was the loving mother of two sons, Eddie and Rickey and three daughters, Shelia and Tonia Johnson who preceded her in death, and Sharon. She also raised her granddaughter, Candis in her home.

Dorothy has been a loyal and faithful member of Pine Hill CME Church since a young age. She was a member of Mothers in Prayer, President of the Stewardess Board, former President of the Usher Board, an usher and a Sunday school teacher.

She generously gave her dedication, support, faithfulness, love and loyalty to God, family and friends. Dorothy was a strong, determined and passionate lady. She believed in standing up for those who were close to her heart. She was fierce in her loyalty and support of family and friends. She encountered some obstacles during the course of her life, and even though small in stature, with her hand clasped tightly in Jesus’ hand, that feisty, fighter, warrior spirit in her would always bring her through.

On Sunday, September 4, 2011 in her home, surrounded by her family, Jesus called her home to eternal rest.
Cherishing her memory are: her husband, Robert of 51 years, her mother, Arlessie Roberson, children, Eddie Johnson of Emerson, Arkansas, Rickey (Denise) Johnson of Minot, North Dakota, Sharon (Glen) Jones of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Candis (Fred) Murray of Stephens, Arkansas. Grandchildren: Kester Johnson, Letetia Johnson, Sparkle Johnson, Cassandra Johnson, Amber Watson, Detrick Jones, Brandon Johnson, Candis Murray, Camille Jones, and Cameron Jones. She leaves five great-grandchildren: Nathan Price, Aarieanna Murray, Noell Warren, DaeQuon Murray and LeYanna Williams. She has two sisters: Gloria Carter and Rita Carter of Los Angeles, California, one uncle, Fulton Walker of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her grandfather, Artress Cooper, grandmother, Daisy Cooper, her father, L.T. Walker, her daughters, Shelia and Tonia Johnson and her brother Melvin Walker, preceded her in death.

Wife (Baby), Mama, Grandmother, Sister, Niece and Friend is who she was to those who loved her. She loved us all with her whole heart, and while she may be absent from us in body, our memories of her will keep her close to us forever.
