Murray E. Spangler, 72, of Bethel Springs, Tenn., died Sunday in a hospital in Memphis, Tenn. after a long illness. A retired auctioneer, Mr. Spangler was a former resident of Strong. He was a Baptist and a veteran of World War I. He was the son of William and Ellen Plumly Spangler. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Grace Spangler; a brother, Bruce P. Spangler of Naperville, Ill.; five sisters, Miss Grace Spangler and Miss Maude Spangler, both of Mukwanago, Wis., Mrs. M. M. Field of West Hollywood, Fla., Mrs. Charles A. Jessup of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. F. C. Spangler of Gresham, Ore.; a nephew, D. C. Nelson of Cleveland, O. P. and a niece, Miss Ada E. Jessup of Detroit. Funeral services have been announced for the chapel of Prett Funeral Home Thursday at 1 p.m. with the chaplain of Roy V. Kinard Post No. 10 of the American Legion officiating. Burial will be in Strong Cemetery. (The El Dorado Times - October 13, 1964)
