Thera Blevins Rector Moore, daughter of the late Charles Albert Blevins and Gract Truman Beaver Blevins, was born December 10, 1915 in Violet Hill, Arkansas. She departed this life February 21, 2015 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 99 years, 2 months and 11 days. In October, 1940, she was united in marriage to Ewell Rector and to this union one son was born. Together they owned and operated Rector Store in Melbourne along with farming and cattle business. After Ewell’s death, she married Clyde Moore. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, homemaker, gardener and friend. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Bob and Carolyn Rector of Melbourne; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two stepsons: Ewell Rector, Jr and Lee Tate Rector; one granddaughter: Tina Rector; five brothers: Olan Blevins, Leonard Blevins, Arvis Blevins, Wilson Blevins and Ray Blevins; six sisters: Jeffie Melton, Zelma Jones Cambpell, Velda and Vilma Blevins, Lessie Johnson and Phemia Johnson.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Mike Haney and Jess Sumrall officiating. Burial will be at Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 24 from 6-8 p.m.
