FAYETTEVILLE — Dean Whillock, 87, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at his home.
He was born March 8, 1924, at Rocky Ford, Colo., the son of William Arthur and Tissue Oxford Whillock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Fletcher Whillock; a brother, Everett Whillock; and a sister, Jewell Clark.
He was retired co-owner of Whillock Brothers Construction and member of Fayetteville First Free Will Baptist Church and Gideons International. He served in the United States Marines.
He is survived by two daughters, Connie Whillock of Seattle, Wash., and Carolyn Church of Fayetteville; a son, Gary Whillock of Austin, Texas; a brother, Faye Whillock of Park Hill, Okla.; a sister, Irene Daniels of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren, Evan Gibson, Shawnn Renfrow, Anson Kesner, Brian Whillock and Holly Whillock; and three great-grandchildren, Lexie Carter, McKenna Renfrow and Gavin Kesner.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Fayetteville First Free Will Baptist Church, with interment to follow in Baptist Ford Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel.
